LAND RIGHTS POLICY

As AFMPACK, we hereby declare our commitment to protecting and supporting the land rights, water resource rights, and anti-deforestation rights of communities, including indigenous peoples, in accordance with the policy scopes divided into the following items.

Land Use Policy:

We declare that even if national/local laws do not make it compulsory, we will obtain permission from communities in advance and subject to free will by informing them about land changes and will take care to do so.

In the principles of business ethics, we declare that permission will be obtained by informing communities in advance and subject to free will, and that there will be no unjust occupation of land.

We declare that we will undertake to obtain permission from the communities in advance and subject to free will by informing them about changes or additional constructions to the facility’s coverage area.

We conduct an assessment to identify land ownership/land rights and declare the protection of these rights.

We protect the land rights of individuals, the public, and communities and respect their rights and ownership over properties and land. We observe the principles of free, prior informed consent, transparency of agreements, and disclosure regarding the use and transfer of their properties or lands, including their use and transfers.

We declare that we have appointed an internal responsible (Environmental Protection System Manager / Official Processes Responsible in absence / Waste Management Responsible in absence) to listen and evaluate the problems of rights holders and will create a mechanism for solving the assessed problems.

We declare that we will avoid activities that negatively impact deforestation and high carbon emissions, including in the stages of land ownership and facility changes.

Water Resource Rights Policy:

We declare that water resources in our business are used correctly to prevent harmful effects on the water environment.

We declare that we maintain the current water for the safe water consumption of future generations.

We declare that no intervention with any factor (chemical substances, solid waste, etc.) that can harm water resources is made in wastewater discharges.

Anti-Deforestation Rights Policy:

We declare that we perform an impact assessment regarding the rights, resources, lands, and regions of those living in the forest, including indigenous peoples, small landowners, squatters, nomads, and minority groups.

As a necessity of forest conservation, we declare that we avoid sourcing materials from deforestation areas and produce products from sustainable sources.

We declare that we will avoid activities that negatively impact deforestation and high carbon emissions, including in the stages of land ownership and facility changes.

According to the FSC-COC system we implement, we declare that we do not directly or indirectly involve in illegal logging or the trade of illegal trees or forest products.

We declare that we will act in accordance with regional rules and human rights during forestry activities.

We declare that we will not be directly or indirectly involved in the destruction of environmental conservation values during forestry activities.

We declare that we will not be directly or indirectly involved in the non-forest use of forests or the release of genetically modified organisms during forestry activities.
